Scott Clapp, English teacher at Charles M.Russell High School, has recently gotten a new kitten named Jaz. She is a nine-week-old, short haired, diluted calico that was plucked from a relative of Clapp’s.

“We rescued her, she was a barn cat,” Clapp said.

Clapp is slowly adjusting to the new lifestyle, yet every day he talks about the new and wild antics that he has to suffer through.

“It’s hard; she wakes me up at 3 a.m. wanting to play…Typical little kitten,” Clapp said. “Just today, she was sitting on my chest, gripping my head with her paws, and bit the tip of my nose.”

Despite the new member of his family, Clapp is enjoying his new fuzzy buddy.

“It keeps the wife happy, and you know the secret to a happy life.”
