Russellog staff offers a glimpse into a year’s worth of work

CMR’s 50th Russellog comes out on Thursday, May 21! Here are some things members of the staff had to say about the book:

  • “I highly suggest every student to order this book for 3 reasons. One, it is the 50th book that CMR has published since it has opened. Two, we have new features that the student body will love. Three, the Russellog has put so much time and dedication into this year’s book, so it’s the book that stands above and beyond the rest.”
  • “We worked really hard on this book to let you see what happened during the school year. I think it will be a good way to look back at the memories that were at our school.”
  • “This book will be incredible and it really ties the theme into our whole year and the Rustler family as well. I think that everyone will really enjoy all of the features and different twists put into the book this year.”
  • “This year, being a part of the Russellog staff has been a great experience. There are going to be times when things are hectic, or when you burn popcorn and someone gets super upset because they loathe the smell of burnt popcorn. The love in that class will help you forget about the whole situation and look back on the event and laugh.”
  • “The work is dedicated to the students the book is being distributed to, which in a way brings the whole school together and not just the staff. The hard work has been paid off and together, as a school, this 50th anniversary of CMR is greatly honored through this year’s yearbook. Together we made this book, and together we made history.”
  • “It turned out to be one of the books I have seen produced in the three years I have been here.”
  • “The 2015 Russellog is 288 pages of teamwork and dedication. The book celebrates the golden anniversary of C.M. Russell High School with historical pictures, videos, and much more. Students will be beyond pleased with the product that the Russellog staff has put together.”
  • “People always ask me, ‘Is the yearbook cool?’ It always catches me off guard because this is your creation, your child in a way. You wouldn’t ask someone ‘Is your child cool?’ When you get involved in journalism and yearbook, what you create becomes a part of you.”
  • “I truly can’t wait to see people’s reactions to the book, because putting it together, I got the chance to talk to so many people and talk to them about what they love about their activities they do at school. The book itself is so full of school spirit that I’m almost positive that once you open it you won’t want to close it.”
  • “Being on the staff for the 2014-2015 Russellog yearbook has been amazing. I have learned how to work my ideas with other people. This year, along with past years, I have made a family out of our little class. We all support each other and help each other grow into better journalists and people. The progress I have seen my peers make in the past 9 months has been wonderfully inspiring. Everyone is going to want to have a copy, and the people who don’t get one in time will be very disappointed that they missed their opportunity.”
  • “Yearbook has always been one of my favorite classes. People don’t realize how much work is actually put into the yearbook. I think that everyone should buy a copy of the 50th It’s full of new, unique designs, coverage of many different people, and great photos.”
  • “The people who are making the book happen are a cross section of nearly every part of the student body. We have musicians, athletes, artists, actors, and a whole plethora of other students that make CMR what it is. I met and worked with people I usually wouldn’t have associated with and it allowed me to expand my horizons personally.”
  • “Being part of the yearbook staff was happiness, a test against my anger level, and a game of patience. When I am on yearbook staff, I’m pulled every direction possible, but it is also amazing. All year, I have been waiting and I still wait for the students of CMR to see my work and the work of my peers.”
  • “Working on the yearbook has been one of the best experiences of my life, honestly. It may take a lot of work (and I mean A LOT), but once you see the end result it is all completely worth it. This year’s book has to be one of the best that CMR has ever put on. The amount of work the entire staff has put into this 288 page masterpiece has got to be the equivalent to Picasso’s painting, it’s sure to please everyone who sees it. There is so much creativity and originality put into this book, which captures every single student so well, that those who don’t purchase one may just end up going home crying to their cat. Don’t be that kid. Purchase your 50th CMR yearbook NOW.”
  • “The student body of CMR should know that a TON of time and effort was put into making this book over the school year.”
  • “The process of putting this book together has been a whirlwind of great ideas.”
  • “We are like a family on the staff, and we work together to make something incredible that people will look at and remember their high school years with.
  • “You walk into the journalism room and the first thing you see is color. The walls have bright colors on it and so does the ceiling- every tile is decorated from the years past. So what does that mean for the yearbook? It means that the personality of this room shows through in the creativity of the book and the people working on it.”
  • “Room 326 is where you can let your ideas flow and everybody is on the same page and everybody is part of a team.”
  • “This year’s book, in my opinion, is the best book produced by the Russellog staff yet. There are lots of new and exciting things in the book this year that no one has ever seen before, which is why I can’t wait to see the faces of the students when they walk into the fun filled cafeteria that day.”
  • “I can truthfully say people not taking the class and working on the wonderful book have no idea all the work that goes into it. The inside of this book contains the fountain of youth, metaphorically of course. This book has a little of everything, some throwbacks, great memories, and tons of pictures. I MEAN IT’S OUR 50TH YEAR, why wouldn’t you want to buy it?”
  • “This yearbook isn’t like any other yearbook before; it truly is one of a kind.”
  • “I really think the student body needs to realize how much work goes into making an amazing yearbook for everyone.”
  • “A grand adventure filled with all kinds of twists and turns. That is the 2015 50th anniversary Russellog yearbook defined in one sentence.”
  • “When the book finally comes in May, getting to see where all that hard work went makes running around all year trying to make deadlines worth it.”
  • “The environment of yearbook class is fun and memorable and that is reflected in the book. While the Russellog staff has a lot of fun through the year we also have worked very hard.”
