Exciting times ahead for winter athletes

Although we are hitting the end of the first semester of the 2014-2015 school year, the winter sports seasons are in full swing.
Rustler athletes still have lots of events to compete in, and fans will have many opportunities to support their fellow students. Swimming, wrestling and basketball teams all have crosstown and state competitions left on their schedules. Intramural basketball is underway for boys and girls, and in less than two months spring sports will start up.
For now though, crosstown wrestling is on Jan. 30 and the crosstown swim meet is the following week on Feb. 5. Both competitions against the Bison will take place at Great Falls High School.
The week of Feb. 9 will be an exciting one for Rustlers. First, student government will be holding a spirit week with different themed dress up days. The pep assembly will take place in the CMR Fieldhouse on Wednesday, Feb. 11. After that, the basketball teams have rematches with Great Falls High. Crosstown part two will be Feb. 12 for the boys and Feb. 13 for the girls. Finally, the swim team heads to Missoula and the wrestlers travel to Billings over the weekend of Valentine’s Day. Both teams will look to compete for both team and individual state tournament titles. A few weeks later, the state basketball tournament will take place March 12-14 in Butte.
