When Mike Beck graduated from high school he didn’t know what to do so he decided to join the army. While in the army teaching classes, he realized his love for teaching and inspiring kids.

“Science is interesting and always changing, which makes it that much more exciting,” he said. He is glad he didn’t know what to do after high school because it brought him to do something he loves everyday.

While he was going to college for teaching, he realized how much he really enjoys science and decided that that was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.

“My teaching style is making science interesting and relevant. I want kids to come to class entertained by the art of science and wanting to learn more,” Beck explains.

He said he really loves what he does when it comes to teaching kids every day.

“I wake up every day happy with what I do,” he said, “The kids I teach never fail to put a smile on my face.”

During the years of teaching Foundations of Science, Beck learns that this has become part of his personality because it’s what he loves to do.
