The Christmas traditions around CMR’s office

Chloe Geary, Staff Writer

What’s your favorite holiday meal?

On Christmas day, we make sandwiches. That way everyone can eat as much as they want, whenever they want, and sleep whenever they want.

Divinity. It’s a candy made with corn syrup — very, very sugary but amazing. You can put walnuts in it; it’s great. I always have to have the divinity, every year. ‘

Andrea Carroll

For food, we change it every year. In the morning, our favorite is when my daughter Grace makes her monkey bread. She makes that every Christmas morning, and I love it.

It’s all about the prime rib. It’s as easy as that.

What’s your favorite holiday movie?

I would say that it has to be “A Christmas Story.”  I never get tired of Ralphy!

Kerry Parsons, principal

Christmas with the Kranks! It’s just hilarious. I love the humor in it.

Christmas Vacation. It’s special to me because I can relate it to my dad. Chevy Chase is the actor who is super clumsy and hilarious. I watch it and I think, that’s so my dad.

Andrea Carroll

My favorite Christmas movie is the Charlie Brown special that comes on every year. The music in it and the classic characters make it a great holiday movie.

For me, it’s hard to choose one because I love White Christmas. It’s an oldie, and it reminds me of my childhood and just watching it every Christmas. But I love Elf. That one’s so much fun. The characters are great and the quotes are amazing.

What is your favorite holiday tradition?

I enjoy being able to spend time with friends and family.  When my kids were young, we used to make an effort to drive around town and view all of the Christmas lights.Just being around family and friends during this time of year is pretty special.

Kerry Parsons, principal

We wait for our kids to come home and enjoy the family time around the holidays. That’s the most special part of the holiday season for me.

Shawna Miller

My family and I, ever since my kids were really little we make Snickers trains. We make them out of Snickers; we make the little railroad tracks. We have a night to do that every year as a family. Oh, and you can’t forget about taking a drive around Christmas Eve looking at everyone’s lights.

Andrea Carroll

Honestly, my favorite thing about the Christmas season is just spending the day enjoying the company of my family.

Janette Kemph

I would have to say Christmas Eve. We have hors d’oeuvres for dinner, we grab cocoa and cookies, then we go out to the truck and drive around and look at Christmas lights. Then we come back and watch “A Christmas Carol” — The cartoon one, with Jim Carrey. We saw it when it was in theaters in 3D. It was a movie made for 3D, and it was a crazy experience. I wish they would bring it back. my family and I would go see it every year.
