On March 14, student’s across the nation were tempted to walk out of their classrooms in protest of gun laws or out of respect, recognizing the 17 victims whose lives were taken on Feb. 14 in the Stoneman Douglas High School Shooting. CMR took part in a “Stay In” instead of a walk out to give students a place to talk about warning signs, along with mental illness or anything else the students wanted to get off of their chest. There were also a group of students who chose to exercise their First Amendment right to protest what they think needs correction, they took the 17 minutes of silence to honor the victims in Parkland.
